Early Literacy
We're quickly approaching March, which means almost time for Ready to Read Michigan<https://www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan/0,9327,7-381-88855_89743_89749---,00.html> programming to kick-off!  All public library locations have received their toolkits and the programming guide is available online<https://www.michigan.gov/documents/libraryofmichigan/LM_2019_RTRM_ProgrammingGuide_639076_7.pdf>, plus our Best Storytime Practices<https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/event.jsp?event=114&> webinar with Jenifer Strauss (just a few seats left) on Thursday will feature the book!  Once you complete your March is Reading Month programming, please submit the Ready to Read survey<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RTRM2019>.

The Read by Grade Three: What Libraries Need to Know<https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/np/clients/libraryofmichigan/event.jsp?event=192> webinar featuring MDE's Lisa Brown and Laural Triebel, is almost at capacity.  If you cannot register it will be available on LM's Webinar Archives page, as soon as it has been closed captioned. I will keep you informed.

Summer Reading
Have you noticed that I've not sent out invitations to enter the CSLP Teen Video Challenge (TVC) yet?!  That's because the TVC ad hoc committee reformatted the program and it is now found starting on PAGE 33 of the 2019 Teen Manual. The committee, made up of state reps and teen librarians, have made it a more open process for teens to enter themselves. The Summer Food Services Program is still accepting applications - consider combining your summer reading programming with a snack or even a cold (or hot) meal!
