The Michigan Library Association is seeking nominees for the Librarian of the Year, Heart of a Champion and Rising Star Awards. Please help us recognize amazing individuals in the Michigan library community and celebrate the accomplishments, dedication, and service of an outstanding library staff member, trustee or library supporter. Submit a nomination for the MLA Librarian of the Year, Heart or a Champion or Rising Star Award by July 1, 2019. Winners will be honored at MLA 2019 Annual Conference this October 16-18 in Novi.

Heart of a Champion

The Heart of a Champion Award, established in 2012, recognizes a library supporter who has shown an exceptional commitment to libraries or the library profession. Rising Star
The Rising Star Award, previously named the Up & Comer Award, was established in 2012 to recognize a librarian who shows leadership early in their career. While new to the profession, they are forward-thinking, expand the role of librarian and move libraries into the future. Winners of this award will be energetic efficient library staff who push the boundaries of originality and creativity and help establish a library culture that sets high expectations, promotes learning, and creates understanding of the library as an integral part of the community. The Rising Star Award winner will also have been a library staff member for less than five years. Self-nominations are welcome. https://www.milibraries.org/rising-star
