Good Afternoon,

We are in the process of constructing a new library and will be moving from a very open 1-floor building where staff can easily find each other to a 2-floor building where we will be more spread out. Just wondering how other libraries handle communicating in larger spaces. We will, of course, have phones at staff workstations but wondering about when staff are wandering through the stacks and we are sending a patron their way for assistance. We don’t really want to go old-school with pagers and we don’t really want to look like switchboard operators with big headsets either but not sure what other options are out there😊 Thanks for any ideas you have and are willing to share!
