The Michigan eLibrary<https://mel.org/az.php> has always been a valuable resource for the K-12 community.  Now, more than ever, the eResources in MeL<https://mel.org/az.php> offer teachers and students the ability  to access a wealth of multimodal information in ways that can support distance learning as well as face-to-face instruction.

In the past 16 months, MeL training has been delivered in over 75 school districts, ISDs/RESAs/RESDs, and education-related conferences both in person and virtually.  Additionally, over 750 educators throughout the state have completed one or more of the 4 Edupath's courses<file:///C:/Users/BreedL/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/INetCache/Content.Outlook/LP48A2FN/bit.ly/Edu_paths> that have been published in the past 8 months. These courses offer introductory knowledge of MeL eResources, identify early literacy resources that can be accessed for instruction, show teachers how to move individual databases to their own websites and guide teachers through content relevant to career, college and military preparation.  Not only do teachers earn free SCECHs by completing these courses, they share the benefits of learning about MeL:

"Going to online, remote learning thanks to the virus, I see this as invaluable not only to myself, but to all teachers in my building.  For me to teach PE online is going to be a struggle to find something valuable that actually has meaning to them. K-12 Curriculum eResources & Distance Learning

MeL has eBooks, images, video clips, audio clips, magazine articles, biographies, primary source documents, science experiments, newswire articles from around the globe, test-prep resources, skill-building resources, and SO much more to support our K-12 students in and out of the classroom.  The advantages to accessing these eResources through MeL are numerous:
*        Permalinks can be copy/pasted for easy retrieval or used with any Learning Management System.
*        Content can be dropped directly into Google Classroom or Google Drive.
*        Citation is included with all content-even images and video.
*        All articles in HTML format can be translated and have audio, allowing for more accessibility.
*        Thousands of full-text eBooks are available (and linkable) for all grade levels-even the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series!
*        MeL eResources are FREE to EVERYONE in Michigan!
