[White M on the MeL colors]The Michigan eLibrary<https://mel.org/welcome> has a wealth of eResources to support scholarly research for education students, professionals and policy makers. The Education Source<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?database=ebsco-eue> database is no exception. It stands out as a go-to resource when it comes to supporting teachers and administrators in the K-12 community.
Professional Journals
Since there has been a major shift these past few months in how we both deliver and receive instruction, new articles published in current professional journals can be an invaluable resource to offer us guidance and affirmation that we're on the right track. For example, the October issue of School Library Journal<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&bquery=JN+%26quot%3bSchool+Library+Journal%26quot%3b+AND+DT+20201001&type=0&searchMode=And&site=ehost-live&scope=site> has dynamic articles to get us thinking about books published during COVID-19, ideas for virtual preschool, distance learning resources, and the ins and outs of purchasing eBooks for schools.
Publications that are always on the cutting edge like Literacy Today<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&jid=JE2Q&site=ehost-live>, Educational Leadership<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&jid=EDL&site=ehost-live>, and Phi Delta Kappan <https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&jid=PDK&site=ehost-live> offer consultants and administrators not only valuable cost savings to their ever-tightening budgets, but they also give keen insight to topics that are time relevant and important to all of us. These peer-reviewed journal articles along with conference papers and book reviews can be searched by author, keyword, subject or title within the Education Source database.
Elementary Teacher's Best Friend
Likely, the brightest light that shines on Education Source is for elementary and middle school teachers. The Scholastic Teacher's Guides are found within this eResource and align with the monthly Scholastic News (grades 2-6), Scholastic Math, Scholastic Scope, and even Scholastic SuperScience subscriptions. This is only scratching the surface. There are also lesson ideas through journals such as Science and Children<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&jid=SID&site=ehost-live>, YC: Young Children<https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customlink/proxify/proxify.php?count=1&encode=1&proxy=https://widgets.ebscohost.com/prod/customerspecific/mel/auth.php?url=&target=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=eue&jid=1DK5&site=ehost-live> and so many more. <https://docs.google.com/document/d/17gBI8q4JmEhA5i5xHSolPSHnk3jfg0vi1EZGRiseykQ/edit>
