Grants from LM!
The Library of Michigan grants programs are open for 2020/2021! There are three grants programs open for applications this year and detailed information on the grant programs, including the program timeline, applicant eligibility, and the applications, are available at www.michigan.gov/lsta<https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.michigan.gov%2Flsta&data=02%7C01%7CLancasterC5%40michigan.gov%7Cbcf1e06dd6de4a03ce2a08d792bf4510%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C1%7C637139222504684133&sdata=Iom9hffjg18c9r3IgbZ60UV2Jjy0XED8iR%2BCFLDmOis%3D&reserved=0> in the respective grant sections.
CSLP
The 2020 Manuals are available online for download at www.cslpreads.org<http://www.cslpreads.org> and your library should have received directions for accessing them last October/November. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have not been able to access your manual. I do have a small number of USB's available, so let me know if you need one. Please note the CSLP state reps have voted to switch the themes around to better suit the artists for 2022/2023, so Sophie Blackall will be illustrating the Oceanography theme in 2022 and Frank Morrison the "All Together Now" in 2023.
POSTER ART:
Due to limited resources and a short timeline, CSLP has only been able to provide 1 simply designed poster replacement. The Library of Michigan feels it is important for public libraries to have access to all the poster art, and with the Rules of Use<https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cslpreads.org%2Fmembership-information%2Frules-of-use%2F&data=02%7C01%7CLancasterC5%40michigan.gov%7C5ebf47ce4da24623492508d7905ba818%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C0%7C637136595646599469&sdata=w%2BsiSUh%2FgdWppNmHni3vFcybWN4WevMdbEF8iGUhcP4%3D&reserved=0> in mind, created the following updated 2020 posters: http://bit.ly/LM2020CSLP<https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FLM2020CSLP&data=02%7C01%7CLancasterC5%40michigan.gov%7C5ebf47ce4da24623492508d7905ba818%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C1%7C637136595646609462&sdata=qgQ5%2BSOCMxixbXcVTHmnxSdVUxJV%2BECDGx6dU0gO1sk%3D&reserved=0>, to be downloaded & printed by public libraries for their summer library program use.

A webinar with Clinton-Macomb Public Library's Amy Young and Brittany Wesner
Wednesday, January 15, 2020
2:00 PM ET
We will discuss how Clinton-Macomb Public Library went from little school outreach to developing a streamlined plan that allows us to see over 20,000 students a year. Specifically, we will focus on how developing curriculum-based, grade specific programs helped us to appeal to teachers and administrators while still attracting students to participate. These strategies can be adapted to serve communities of any size. Additionally, we will talk about the differences between curriculum-based school outreach and relationship-based school outreach as well as how to meet the need of schools from varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
This webinar is recorded for participants that cannot attend live.
