The Collaborative Summer Library Program is having their "End of Summer Sale!".
Everything in the store is 50% off at check out - Luke Kralik, the Organizational Coordinator said, "If you have been on the fence about adding a dozen unicorn headbands to your wardrobe, now is the time!"
But in all seriousness, remember you can use "Imagine Your Story" throughout this coming school year, so if you need bags for grab & go's or the puppet for storytime, now is your chance. Sale ends next week (discount shows in your final cart).

In October 2017, the Ypsilanti District Library launched TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten, an early literacy text messaging service, with LSTA grant funding. With the support of community partners, the successful project reached over 1,000 families across Washtenaw County via text, offering activities parents could do with children 5 and under to prepare them for school and beyond. Find out more about this pilot project that may become available to libraries statewide in 2021. This webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants. It is brought to you by the Library of Michigan and supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Staff from the University of Maine have designed a program called the Racial Justice Challenge, which will run the week of August 3rd. Anyone with an internet connection and an email address can join:
The Racial Justice Challenge is around the corner and we hope you'll join us! Each day, for five days, you'll receive an email with several tasks designed to learn, listen, share, and take action regarding race, racism, and antiracism. We'll explore how to be antiracist (versus "not racist"), move beyond a single story, examine issues of race in the media, and design a personalized racial justice plan.
The Challenge will take place from August 3 - August 7, 2020. To join, sign up online<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSceahtAABNPaZhxz7Kp1eSMStO24MUvcj1tdXfBjFhqheLHFg/viewform>. Have questions? Contact Jen Bonnet, jenbonnet at maine.edu<mailto:jenbonnet at maine.edu<mailto:jenbonnet at maine.edu%3cmailto:jenbonnet at maine.edu>>.
This program is sponsored by UMaine's Fogler Library and the Office for Diversity and Inclusion.
Constellations: Science and Stories in the Sky<http://www.starnetlibraries.org/sky-stories/> from Star NET Libraries
Tuesday, July 28, 4:00 pm EDT
Summer is the finest part of the year for stargazing because it offers warm nights and the beauty of the Milky Way running straight overhead. The constellations we see have been passed down to us across generations, with patterns that reflect different stories from around the world. As part of STAR Net's Sky Stories campaign, the American Museum of Natural History's Carter Emmart will show you how to identify the constellations and will introduce you to a few of these stories while exploring some of the science behind the familiar patterns in the sky.
This live OpenSpace webcast is brought to you by the STAR Library Network's NASA@ My Library program in partnership with the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the American Library Association, and the American Museum of Natural History.

Whose Turn Is It Anyway? Online Board Gaming and Libraries<https://www.webjunction.org/events/webjunction/online-board-gaming-and-libraries.html?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_content=July+15+2020+Crossroads&utm_campaign=&utm_term=WebJunctionCrossroads_COMM> from WebJunction
Tuesday, July 28, 3:00 pm EDT
Closed buildings and social distancing doesn't need to mean the end of engaging and fun board game groups hosted by libraries. Many libraries have worked hard to organize board game groups, while others are still considering how to get started. Using popular and free online board gaming platforms (Board Game Arena, Yucata, Tabletopia, Tabletop Simulator, and Boitejeux), communities of gamers can continue meeting safely online. This webinar will explore how to make the transition to online board gaming, moderate meetups, and facilitate discussions among participants. The session will be applicable to those looking to move online and anyone interested in starting their first gaming group. Presented by: John Pappas, Head Librarian, Elkins Park Free Public Library, Cheltenham Township Library System (PA), and author of the Board in the Library<https://www.webjunction.org/news/webjunction/board-in-the-library-part-one.html> series on WebJunction; and Bebo, author, photographer, video producer and founder of Be Bold Games<https://www.beboldgames.com/>
Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy (CLEL) will be hosting a two day virtual conference, scheduled for October 8, 12:00-5:00 MT, and October 9, 8:00-5:00 MT, and we are seeking presenters for both days. The first day will be CLEL's first ever Leadership Institute; this event will advance the leadership skills of all participants to empower them to lead from where they are in their libraries and communities, regardless of position, experience, or skill level. The second day will focus on general topics for all library staff that serve young children and their families and caregivers. For 2020, both days of the conference will be exclusively online for the first time, while providing the high quality continuing education, networking opportunities, inspiration, and great ideas of prior CLEL Conferences.
Please click on this link to see additional information about the conference and to submit your session proposal for either day (or both days!) of the conference:
