[Michlib-l] Lincoln Township Public Library Closed

The Lincoln Township Public Library will be closed March 16 – March 28 to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We realize that this may present a hardship for some of our patrons and regret that we must close the building. We assure you that our staff team will be working to provide alternative services during this time.

On Thursday, March 12, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a mandate to close all Michigan schools grades K-12 through April 5 to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Governor Whitmer also urged all Michigan residents to practice self-isolation by staying home. LTPL considers the health of our patrons and staff a top priority. To both help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 among the high number of residents who utilize our library on a daily basis, and reduce the risk of exposure to the rest of our community, we will comply with the Governor’s order.

Please keep library materials until we reopen. Late fees on any materials checked out after March 1st will be waived until April 13th. MelCat requests will not be filled at this time.

Our library staff team will be available via phone and email during the hours of 10am-6pm Monday through Friday, and 10am-2pm on Saturdays to answer your questions and help connect you to other resources being made available during this period.

While our physical building will be closed, our website lincolntownshiplibrary.org is our online branch and it is always open. LTPL offers a large variety of digital options including eBooks and eAudiobooks through Overdrive<https://smdl.overdrive.com/> or the mobile app, Libby; music through Freegal<https://lincolntownshiplibrary.freegalmusic.com/home>, and a variety of databases under the “Research” tab on our homepage.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely. The Library board will reconvene on March 28th to reassess and make a determination regarding access and services.
