ALA partnered with actress Auli'i Cravalho, star of the animated film Moana, to remind families of the importance of completing the 2020 Census. Cravalho is featured in this read-along video<https://youtu.be/8yfkUiSyLPM> of "WE COUNT! A Census Counting Book for Kids, (and the Grownups That Love Them)" (Simply Put Media 2020), an interactive counting book with illustrations of diverse American families by artists representing their own cultural heritage. There are printable activity pages, stickers and more to go along with it at: http://www.ala.org/advocacy/we-count-read-along.

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) has partnered with Netflix in support of Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices, a collection of 12 episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children's books from Black authors. As part of the Bookmarks project, ALSC also shared its #LooktoLibraries resources to encourage families to explore the power of connecting with children's library professionals. The Look to Libraries materials were created to help families navigate life during the pandemic and include tip sheets for families on a range of topics. ALA's Black Caucus and First Book are also partners.

In October 2017, the Ypsilanti District Library launched TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten, an early literacy text messaging service, with LSTA grant funding. With the support of community partners, the successful project reached over 1,000 families across Washtenaw County via text, offering activities parents could do with children 5 and under to prepare them for school and beyond. Find out more about this pilot project that may become available to libraries statewide in 2021. The webinar link will be emailed to registered attendees the day before the event. This webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants. It is brought to you by the Library of Michigan and supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

While researching her book with ALA Editions, Gather 'Round the Table: Food Literacy Programs, Resources, and Ideas for Libraries (2020), Hillary Dodge reached out to libraries around the country that had embedded food literacy in their programs and services. She discovered a number of fantastic food literacy programs and services, scaled to libraries both large and small.
But that was before the pandemic. Now the ways that libraries serve their communities and meet their food literacy goals has drastically changed. This webinar will explore several ways that libraries have changed their service and program design to provide food literacy programs and services during the pandemic.
If you're interested, but not able to attend the live webinar, go ahead and register. We'll send a recording to all registrants after the fact.
