Partnering with our local historical society, a Covid Memorial Tree is going to be planted in a corner of our property to be nurtured into a simple, quiet garden with a bench under the tree as a place for patrons to contemplate. The Remembrance Ceremony this Saturday invites those in our community who have lost someone due to Covid-19 to write a note on biodegradable paper which will be planted with the tree. A short program is planned - a few words by the director (me), a poem by a member of the historical society a piece of classical music.

I’m trying to figure out how to do something like this that is not religious but recognizes that the pandemic has affected all of us in some way or another and seeks to find some peace/grace within each of us as individuals.
