Resources & Calls for Proposals
National Library Week is right around the corner running from April 4th - 10th . The theme this year is “Welcome to Your Library”.
The Library of Michigan social media team will be creating content on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter promoting how libraries serve patrons even during less-than-ideal circumstances. We will be sharing some infographics using the COVID data we collected on the Annual Survey, highlighting library workers, celebrating outreach and more. We will also be searching Michigan libraries' social media pages for content to share.

  * Monday, April 5: State of America's Libraries Report released, including Top Ten Frequently Challenged Books of 2020.

  * Tuesday, April 6: National Library Workers Day<http://ala-apa.org/nlwd/>, a day for library staff, users, administrators and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.

  * Wednesday, April 7: National Library Outreach Day<http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/natlibraryweek/national-library-outreach-day>, a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are.

  * Thursday, April 8: Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally advocates to support libraries.
We look forward to seeing and sharing your content on social media. You can find tools, and the daily guides @ http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/natlibraryweek

Every Child a Reader<https://everychildareader.net/> Children’s Book Week, established in 1919, is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading. We are inspired by educators, librarians, booksellers, parents and caregivers and the creative ways they find to connect with kids everyday. Because of that we have created a more engaging Children’s Book Week experience for all in 2021!
We invite everyone to celebrate with us May 3-9 at home, online, and in whatever setting is appropriate for your community.
