SUMMARY

The Sr.  Coordinator Policy Administration provides enterprise-wide governance and ongoing sustainability for all policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.  The Sr. Coordinator Policy Administration develops programs ensuring the strategic objectives of the organization are fulfilled including enterprise-wide compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  *   Master's Degree in healthcare-related field or nursing required. Clinical experience preferred.
  *   7-10 years' experience with acute care processes, policies, and procedures.
  *   Ability to understand clinical practice and standards of care to ensure changing regulatory, legal, accreditation, and CMS Conditions of Participation requirements for policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols remain current/active.
  *   Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to take responsibility for key organizational priorities.
  *   Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership in project management and continuous improvement. Lean experience preferred.
  *   Ability to conduct, compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and surveys.
  *   Ability to set priorities and identify areas that require further research.
  *   Problem solving, active listening, negotiation, and strong consensus building skills.
  *   Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  *   Strong presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
ORGANIZATION

This position has reporting responsibility to the System CMO. Collaborates with system senior leadership (CMO, CMIO, CNO, CFO, System Pharmacy Director, VP Human Resources, VP Legal Affairs, VP Quality and Safety), providers, and other clinical and non-clinical staff throughout the enterprise. The position reports up through Knowledge Management Services.
This position has oversight of Regional Policy Specialist and the System Document Management Specialist positions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES

1.    Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.
2.    Embraces and supports the Performance Improvement philosophy of Munson Healthcare.
3.    Promotes personal and patient safety.
4.    Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills.
5.    Facilitates the development of system-wide policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Assesses risk associated with deletion, consolidation, or integration of documents.
6.    Aligns policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols in relation to the scope, function, and structure of Munson Healthcare.
7.    Provides enterprise-wide consultation services to departments, committees, and executive leaders, to develop, implement, and maintain a coordinated approach to document creation, maintenance, and retention.
8.    Monitors and analyzes various organizational trends and activities. Reviews current literature to ensure documents include appropriate evidence-based content.
9.    Assures readiness, assesses, and monitors all system documents for compliance related to regulatory, accreditation, licensure, and professional standards.
10.    Report's system progress on implementation of new policy, procedure, guideline, and protocol activities needed to assure continuing compliance and organizational imperatives.
11.    Conducts usability studies and surveys to help improve the end user experience.
12.    Facilitates appropriate integration of policy program content into online learning platforms, electronic health records, online procedure manuals and other identified applications.
13.    Provides leadership for implementation of education programs related to system-wide learning.
14.    Maintains ongoing professional development and expertise related to current regulatory, compliance and accreditation agencies.
15.    Performs other duties as assigned.
