Job Title: Systems Administrator

Supervisor: IT Manager 

Hiring Range: $66,600 - $83,300 

Union Position: No

Position Summary 

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for administration of staff and public facing devices and service, data management, system updates, and automation tasks. 

This position will primarily focus on automation of updates, deployments, file processing, and data migration. The projects involved may include migrating data from a platform to an agnostic structure to work with other services, automated software updates on devices, building containers for services, and bulk file processing. 




Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties as assigned: 

· Designs, develops, tests, and implements projects according to stakeholder specifications. 

· Develops middleware tools to provide consistent, documented access to internal and external databases. 

· Assists other IT staff members with projects and coordinates work with Project Leaders. 

· Produces documentation, both in-code and in IT document repositories, for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

· Works with stakeholders and IT Project Leaders to produce specifications and plans for both small and large projects. 

· Works within both the IT departmental guidelines and project management processes, to complete projects on a timely basis and maintain constant contact with the stakeholder. 

· Researches new technologies and structures to maintain and update knowledge, skills and abilities. 

· Monitors completed projects and associated documentation, plans upgrades, and schedules implementations as needed. 

· Configures tools and processes for the entire IT team, including version control and development and integration testing environments. 

· Consults with IT staff members on project deployments and serves as a departmental resource. 
Requirements 
Minimum Qualifications include: 


· Bachelors’ degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience. 

· Experience with Bash. 

· Experience with Ansible. 

· Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL. 

· Extensive experience with open-source tools and operating systems, particularly Debian Linux. 

· Experience using Git. 

· Proven ability to work within a technical team on large, multi-faceted projects. 

· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 


Preferred Qualifications include: 

· Experience working effectively with a diverse community. 

· Experience with Drupal. 

· Experience with performance monitoring tools. 

· Experience with Docker. 

· Experience automating media files such as images and videos. 

· Experience writing scripts in PHP or Python. 

· Familiarity with Library operations. 

· Experience with open-source development. 

· Progressive experience developing or administering databases.
