#OceansOfPossibilities with the Detroit Zoo - MI Public Library BOGO
The Library of Michigan is excited to announce, in collaboration with the Detroit Zoo, a summer reading prize opportunity for your clubs! The Detroit Zoo is providing your public library summer participants a special MI Library BOGO<https://bit.ly/MiLibraryZoo>: Purchase one general admission ticket and receive a second general admission ticket redeemable for one child ages 2-18 years of age FREE! The Zoo is also providing the adult ticket at a discount price and a parking voucher.
Patrons can redeem their bogo at https://bit.ly/MiLibraryZoo. I've also created a "coupon" for you to print & award to your program participants, and a QR code, all of which you can find here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Nyy1skmSaHYrKNHI5J0cbPcEgCaivvdt?usp=sharing<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Ffolders%2F1Nyy1skmSaHYrKNHI5J0cbPcEgCaivvdt%3Fusp%3Dsharing&data=05%7C01%7CLancasterC5%40michigan.gov%7C3032c85dcc9c479c37bc08da43da6061%7Cd5fb7087377742ad966a892ef47225d1%7C0%7C0%7C637896902591419644%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=r89MrghZIe%2FeIkGTuvzRhQgHbIKCUGzC%2B8zEJf5I9G4%3D&reserved=0>.
Please use the Detroit Zoo's Michigan Library Bogo as an incentive for participation in your public library's summer programs. This is not for general shares to the public (nor for non-library participants). This offer is good through December 31, 2022, so families that live far away have the opportunity to plan and travel, should they choose to! A big THANK YOU to the Detroit Zoo for providing this opportunity for our families to continue to explore #OceansOfPossibilities and for encouraging reading this summer.

InBrief: Early Childhood Mental Health<https://developingchild.harvard.edu/resources/inbrief-early-childhood-mental-health/>
Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University
The science of child development shows that the foundation for sound mental health is built early in life, as early experiences-which include children's relationships with parents, caregivers, relatives, teachers, and peers-shape the architecture of the developing brain. Disruptions in this developmental process can impair a child's capacities for learning and relating to others, with lifelong implications. For society, many costly problems, ranging from the failure to complete high school to incarceration to homelessness, could be dramatically reduced if attention were paid to improving children's environments of relationships and experiences early in life.
