The Auburn Hills Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Information Technology Coordinator with a commitment to excellent public service to join our team.



Information Technology Coordinator (Full-time)

Salary: $47,840-$62,420 a year

Benefits: Sick days, vacation, paid holidays, health, vision, dental

Retirement benefits: (Defined Contribution Plans) 401 and 457

Hours: 40 hours per week, includes days/evenings and rotating weekends


Job Qualifications:

  *   Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Information Systems or equivalent
  *   Network and/or Systems Administrator experience desired
  *   Ability to create and maintain an effective working relationship
  *   Ability to serve the public with courtesy and tact
  *   Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  *   Ability to prepare records and reports
  *   Successfully pass a background check & pre-employment screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Knowledge of library systems and services such as ILS and Envisionware
  *   Working knowledge of wireless networks, routers, Cisco switches
  *   Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
  *   Working knowledge of current MS operating systems and MS Office suites
  *   Understanding of basic networking (TCIP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  *   Experience with SQL, Linux, VMWare, vSphere/SAN technologies
  *   Experience with VoIP phone systems, Prime and Firewalls
  *   Strong hardware troubleshooting skills and familiarity with remote support
  *   Experience in dealing with Veeam backup and cyber security best practices
  *   Knowledge of antivirus software and malware remediation
  *   Familiarity with imaging solutions

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  *   Manage Library’s network infrastructure and backup system
  *   Supervises part-time IT Assistant
  *   Works as a member of the Management Team
  *   Assists staff in routine troubleshooting
  *   Interact with the public and assist them with technology questions and issues

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  *   Manage the Library’s public computers and loanable devices
  *   Manage the Library’s email system through Office 365
  *   Maintain the Library’s VoIP phone system
  *   Maintain server maintenance, including backups, updates, and anti-virus software
  *   Develop and maintain inventory database for all Library equipment
  *   Install and maintain upgrades for computer software, hardware, and other equipment
  *   Collect, evaluate, and report on usage statistics and trends
  *   Develop and revise user training manuals and procedures
  *   Communicate changes in technology to the Director and other staff
  *   Investigate, plan, and implement new projects to move the Library forward
  *   Protect the Library from cyber security threats
  *   Serve as the face for the Library in outreach events within the community
  *   Other duties as assigned by the Director

  *   Ability to maintain confidentiality
  *   Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks
  *   Ability to function in a professional manner, work independently, and use good judgment
  *   Physical mobility, vision, hearing and manual dexterity essentials.
  *   Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  *   Excellent communication and organizational skills
