How to Pick Your Pixels: Format Selection & Specifications for Digitization
When: Tuesday, 6/27/2023, 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET
What: Digitization is a great way to increase access to your collections and help preserve them over time, but with so many file formats and technical aspects it can be difficult to know what the right choice is. Join Biz Gallo, Statewide Digitization Initiatives Coordinator at the Library of Michigan, for this webinar on selecting the right file format and specifications for your digitization project. In this session you will review best and "good enough" practices, identify appropriate file formats for both long-term preservation and access of digital files, and learn about color, resolution, and bit depth of digital files.

What: Digitization is a great way to increase access to your collections and help preserve them over time, but sometimes digitization requires the help of a professional. Join Biz Gallo, Statewide Digitization Initiatives Coordinator at the Library of Michigan, for this webinar on working with digitization vendors. In this session you will identify factors to consider when determining whether to use a vendor, learn how to request quotes, and how to ensure that the work is done right.
