Family Matters Resources from MDE/OSE
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Office of Special Education (OSE) requests your help sharing Family Matters resources<https://www.michigan.gov/mde/services/special-education/parent-resources/family-matters> that provide parents and families with information about Michigan's special education system. The resources are on the Family Matters webpage, which offers multiple Family Matters fact sheets. The fact sheets are easy to read, give links to more in-depth resources intended to enhance public understanding of Michigan's special education system, and are available in English, Arabic, and Spanish.
No Kid Hungry: Nutrition Programs in Libraries
If you facilitate library participation in child nutrition programs, and/or simply have an interest in connecting kids and families with basic needs support through libraries, you are warmly encouraged to join the upcoming meeting of an informal network organized by No Kid Hungry<https://www.nokidhungry.org/> (NKH) that brings together librarians with NKH to discuss all topics related to libraries and child nutrition programs. If you want to receive direct announcement of these quarterly meetings, contact Chelsea MacCormack at NKH, cmaccormack at strength.org<mailto:cmaccormack at strength.org>, to ask to be added to the Nutrition Programs in Libraries distribution list.

I Love My Librarian Award | Nominate a Librarian
The I Love My Librarian Award<https://ilovelibraries.org/love-my-librarian/nominate/> invites library users to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional public, school college, community college, or university librarians. Each year, up to 10 librarians are honored at a ceremony held in their honor and receive a $5,000 cash award. Since the award was established in 2008, 160 librarians have received this distinguished honor. In that time, library users nationwide have shared more than 23,000 nominations detailing how librarians have gone above and beyond in their commitment to inclusivity, literacy, and digital access. Nominations<https://ilovelibraries.org/love-my-librarian/nominate/> are due September 30!
