About This Training:
Despite guidelines from OSHA, the FBI, the Secret Service, and DHS, many organizations have yet to implement Active Threat Assessment Programs or Comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention Systems. Without these systems, organizations risk losing critical opportunities to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate threats posed by aggressive individuals to schools, libraries, or businesses. Simply having a Workplace Violence Prevention Policy is not enough.
Topics Include:
* Best Practices for Violence Prevention: Insights from the Secret Service, FBI, and DHS guidelines.
* Identifying and Managing Behaviors of Concern: Recognizing warning signs displayed by students, patrons, customers, and employees.
* Institutionalizing a Violence Prevention System:
* Developing policies and stakeholder awareness training.
* Establishing systems for reporting and threat assessment teams.
* Conducting security audits and creating emergency operations plans.
* Preparing for crisis recovery.
* Conducting Threat Investigations: Steps to evaluate and respond effectively.
* Managing Threats and Individuals of Concern:
* Addressing specific threats to employees or the organization.
* Providing appropriate interventions and follow-up.
* Building Partnerships: Collaborating with external resources, law enforcement, and other agencies for comprehensive prevention strategies.
* Types of Risks: Understanding perpetrators, aggressors, and field-community hazards.
