Western Michigan University (WMU) Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented leader as Associate Dean for Resources and Digital Strategies, to direct its Research Services, Resource Management and Information Technology Services departments.
Reporting to the Dean of University Libraries, this key administrative position supports the Libraries' mission, vision, and strategic goals. The Libraries have recently implemented a new organizational structure and strategic plan, which offers an experienced professional an opportunity to envision and develop collaborative relationships among collections, technologies, and scholarship.
The Associate Dean serves in a co-chair capacity alongside the Associate Dean for Education and User Services, allocating the workload for and evaluating a team of faculty librarians responsible for research programming and curation and collections access. As a member of the administrative team, the Associate Dean actively participates in developing a user-focused approach to library administration, including library-wide planning, assessment, budgeting, and decision-making. The position is a full-time, fiscal year, tenured administrative appointment.
